Jordan Ramis PC Attorney Appointed to Portland's Charter Review Commission Portland, OR... Jordan Ramis PC is pleased to announce that attorney Damien Hall has been appointed to the City of Portland's 2011 Charter Review Commission. Following a nomination by Portland Mayor Sam Adams, Damien was granted the appointment by the Portland City Council at its Wednesday, July 20, 2011, meeting. Damien will serve a six-month term.
"Damien is quickly developing an excellent record of public service to our community and his expertise and experiences in urban planning, community redevelopment, and law will serve Portland well," said Brad Eriksen, acting managing shareholder at Jordan Ramis PC. "I have great confidence he will provide the strong leadership needed to fulfill the mission of the Charter Review Commission." The 2011 Charter Review Commission will be considering possible amendments to Portland's Charter. The city's Charter prescribes the framework for city governance, sets parameters for what laws and rules may be adopted by City Council, what kind of services the public receives, and how tax dollars are collected and spent. In 2007, Portlanders voted to create a Charter Review Commission that is currently mandated to review and recommend changes to the Charter every ten years, beginning in 2011. Recommended Charter changes adopted by the Commission will be put to a vote by Portland residents at a future election. In addition to this appointment, Damien was recently elected chairman of the Oregon Convention Center Urban Renewal Area advisory committee. Damien graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Public Policy, Planning, and Management in 2005 and received his J.D. from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College in 2008. He was admitted to the Oregon Bar the same year. Jordan Ramis PC (www.jordanramis.com) was established in 1963 and has offices in Oregon and Washington.
