Community Outreach

At Jordan Ramis, we believe it is our responsibility to promote and enhance the livability and viability of our communities. As a firm and as individuals, we actively engage in our communities, both fundraising and participating in activities throughout the year. Some activities change each year and include things such as volunteering at the Oregon Food Bank or working on a Habitat for Humanity build site. We also sponsor children through Clackamas County foster kids and have a great time filling their holiday wishes each year. In addition, our attorneys and staff donate thousands of hours of their time to charities and nonprofits, including serving on numerous Boards of Directors.

Habitat for Humanity

The Jordan Ramis staff might not have construction experience (although some actually do!), but that doesn’t stop us from helping build homes for families that need them most.  Thanks to Habitat for Humanity, we are able to gather our friends and colleagues for a day of team building and home building.  Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to building homes, communities, and hope; and believing that everyone deserves a decent and affordable home.  Homes are built through the help of volunteers who see the need to eliminate substandard housing for struggling families where homeownership is simply unattainable.  This very important program relies almost completely on its volunteers’ time and energy, corporate grants and donations, individual donations, and donated building materials.  Special thanks to the clients, friends, and colleagues who have joined us in building a better community.

School Supply Drive

On average, teachers are paying $500 out of pocket each year to supply their classrooms with the necessary items that all classrooms should have.  Each of our three offices are committed to helping a few local schools by collecting and donating school supplies in Lake Oswego, Bend, and Vancouver, WA. Anywhere from pencils and rulers to backpacks and tissues, we want our local schools to prepared for the upcoming school year!

Military Crisis Lines

Jordan Ramis participated in a fundraiser for Military Crisis Lines, which is a part of Lines for Life.  Though the callers shown here at the telethon are ordinary members of the Jordan Ramis family, every single person who answers support calls for Military Crisis Lines is a veteran who is understanding of the problems that fellow soldiers and veterans are going through.  Click here to learn more about Lines for Life.

Clackamas County Foster Kids

Each year Jordan Ramis collects holiday gifts to fulfill the wishes of Clackamas County foster children.  Everyone at Jordan Ramis pitches in.  It’s not unusual to see someone in the office assembling a bike, testing out safety helmets, or even testing out the assembled bikes before they are picked up for delivery to the kids. Each year, it is our goal to make sure every one of our foster kids' holiday wish list items makes it to them in time for the holidays.

Jordan Ramis took a volunteer shift at the Oregon Food Bank this past fall, spending several hours in the perishable repack room where we repacked frozen vegetables into family-sized portions.  In the few hours that we were there, we worked alongside other community volunteers to repackage 8,049 pounds of food, creating 6,700 meals for those in need.  To learn more about the Oregon Food Bank and how you might be able to help, click here.
