Women And Leadership 2: A Successful Jordan Ramis Event!
November 13, 2018

We are thrilled to report that the 2nd Annual Jordan Ramis Women and Leadership event was a roaring success!  Like last year’s event, it was an evening full of inspiration, motivation, education, and valuable networking for leaders and aspiring leaders alike. Thanks to our wonderful audience, we are pleased to report that we raised $1,400 for Girls Build, a nonprofit that offers a variety of ways for girls ages 8 to 14 to learn the basics of building, including carpentry, plumbing, electricity, concrete, sheet metal and much more! Donations help fund the summer camps, scholarships, after-school programming, new shop space, and programming at Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility.

Our panelists participated in an engaging roundtable discussion that revolved around a variety of topics illustrating the historical obstacles women have faced in the construction industry and how they have thrived in leadership despite, and even because of, those challenges. We all know that being in a leadership role takes hard work, communication, and an authentic approach, and doing so in a construction-related industry is no exception. However, with the knowledge and support of the individuals like those who filled the room on Nov. 8th, leaders and those aspiring to be leaders can grow together towards a better future for women and leadership across the industry and throughout our communities. We at Jordan Ramis are particularly delighted to be able to facilitate such a rich and valuable conversation again, one that we know will continue long beyond the event itself.

If you didn’t get a chance to join us for the 2018 Women and Leadership event, stay tuned for information about the next one! Likewise, if you are interested in being a panelist or have a suggestion about a particular industry that we focus on for a future event, we’d love to hear from you.

A special thanks to our panelists, Bridgeport Brewery for hosting, and to the distilleries who came to hand out some awesome whiskey tastings!
