Elizabeth A. RossoAssociate
Elizabeth Rosso focuses her practice on environmental law. A Navy veteran, she understands both the importance of mission accomplishment and the necessity of legal and regulatory compliance. She helps her clients find balance between the two, so they can meet their goals while also being good stewards of the environment.
During her 14 years as an officer in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, Elizabeth served in a variety of positions, including at sea aboard an aircraft carrier. As one of the Navy’s Region Environmental Counsel, she advised her clients on the environmental laws applicable to projects such as solid and hazardous waste management in connection with ship and aircraft maintenance and repair; compatibility of flight operations with local land uses; spill and release response; and environmental planning for various projects such as training exercises, on-base renewable energy generation, and replacement of aging infrastructure. Elizabeth also monitored legislative and regulatory developments on the state and federal levels, engaging in those processes when necessary, to ensure that any laws or regulations proposed for revision or enactment would not adversely affect her clients. She is excited to bring her experience and expertise to the private sector.
In addition to helping environment and industry co-exist, Elizabeth is a volunteer mentor for Lewis & Clark Law School’s 2018 Attorney Mentor Program, and plays flute in the Beaverton Community Band. Her two dogs wish she would practice her instrument less, and feed them more.
