OVERVIEW
Daniel L. Steinberg has significant experience litigating a wide variety of matters related to real estate, secured transactions, construction defects and liens, fiduciary malfeasance, ERISA liabilities, and other commercial-related areas. He takes a direct and practical approach to representing private and institutional lenders, secured financing companies, and real estate investors. Working with his clients to get to the heart of their matters, Daniel focuses on the issue at hand and is skilled at simplifying complex situations.
Including his time as a former deputy prosecuting attorney, and with more than 20 years’ litigation experience, Daniel represents clients in all aspects of commercial litigation in Oregon and Washington federal and state courts. His practice focuses on efficiently protecting the rights of individual and institutional creditors, including commercial collections, lien foreclosures, property rights, and ERISA litigation. In addition to teaching legal seminars and testifying as an expert on collection and ethics issues, he is the past chairperson of both the Oregon State Bar Client Security Fund and the Multnomah County Local Professional Responsibility Committee. Daniel also donates his time working with legislative committees and local student-trial competitions. Daniel has been selected to the Oregon Super Lawyers list in the area of creditor/debtor rights each year since 2017.
Prior to joining the bar, Daniel interned with Honorable Frank R. Alley in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.
Daniel recognizes the diversity of issues in the financial services and commercial real estate industries and enjoys working collaboratively with his clients to go beyond their expectations. When he is not practicing law, he spends time with his family, traveling, or volunteering with local sports organizations.
