In addition to business and real estate experience, Scott Anders has experience as a former civil prosecutor and former District Court Judge in Clark County, Washington. This combination allows him to offer a unique skill set very few attorneys can provide. With his extensive background and deep understanding of government workings, lobbying, and the dynamics that exist between public and private entities at the local, state, and regional levels, Scott knows the paths and processes needed to work with government to achieve goals, and he can effectively and collaboratively work towards solutions.

As a shareholder at Jordan Ramis, Scott focuses his practice on commercial real estate law and serving as outside business counsel to his clients. His practice is driven by his desire to help people navigate the complex legal system to achieve their goals, be successful in business, and help build community. Scott's clients include local businesses, as well as international corporations in industries including commercial, retail, manufacturing, high tech, and education. Scott's reputation and breadth of experience has earned him an Martindale-Hubbell® AV Preeminent® Attorney rating.  He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Vancouver for 17 years and is a past president. Scott also serves as a commisioner for Clark County Fire District 3.

Real Estate and Land Use Law

Scott regularly assists developers, property managers, and private landowners with a wide range of real estate development, transactional, commercial leasing,  and project finance issues. His real estate experience includes:
  • Purchase, sale and leasing of commercial and retail property
  • Commercial and retail landlord/tenant issues including evictions and collection of past due amounts
  • Code enforcement, condemnation, and pursuing foreclosure of commercial property on behalf of clients

Outside General Counsel

Due to his expansive legal experience, Scott is able to advise on a broad range of legal issues. His business clients can rest assured knowing that their attorney is well-versed in business issues from both the public and private perspective. Scott readily draws from the larger resource of lawyers at Jordan Ramis to deal with specialized areas when needed. 

Scott's leadership as a District Court Judge enabled him to serve as a liaison between the court and county commissioners.  While performing the usual duties of a judge, he also presided over a successful mental health court, now emulated by other counties throughout Washington and Oregon. An active member of the community, Scott also draws on his past experience in the credit industry to give regular presentations to high school juniors and seniors on the potentials and pitfalls of using credit.  His professional involvement has included assisting in the development of guidelines for improved access to the judicial system in the state of Washington and serving on a best practices subcommittee to create performance standards in trial courts.
