Susan Ford is an intellectual property and business litigator with over 20 years of experience assisting businesses of all sizes.  A former shareholder at one of Portland's largest law firms, she most recently served as founder and principal of a boutique litigation and intellectual property firm.  This unique combination allows her to offer clients big firm know-how complemented by  personalized focus.
Susan works closely with her clients to resolve legal disputes and avoid future litigation.  Her experience includes complex business and IP litigation, including matters relating to business contract and shareholder disputes, trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets.  She also regularly provides advice and counseling relating to business formation and governance, e-commerce, entertainment, and online defamation issues.  In addition, she prosecutes trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and copyright applications before the U.S. Copyright Office.
Susan is an active member of her community, serving on the Advisory Board of Girls, Inc. of the Pacific Northwest, as a service provider member to Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, and as a member of Leaders and Executives Across Professions, and Oregon Women Lawyers. Susan is also a member of Jordan Ramis PC’s Diversity Committee.  She is admitted to practice in both Oregon and Washington, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the District of Oregon and the Western District of Washington.  She also appears before the USPTO's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
When not practicing law, you can find Susan enjoying time with her teenagers and dogs, road biking through Oregon's wine country, or reading a good book.

    Client Raves

"A business dispute involving patents can be scary because it’s your livelihood. Susan understands that she’s working with people whose business is dependent upon a solid understanding of intellectual property law. She takes her clients seriously and takes the time to understand what they are going through. She not only provided me with a positive outcome, I now have a lawyer I can pick up the phone and call for my future business needs."
