BACK TO KNOWLEDGE CENTER

In an article published on June 30, 2021, in The Mid-Market Report, Jordan Ramis President Matthew Lowe is profiled in the “Getting to Know You” Q&A series highlighting law firm leaders.

“One of our biggest opportunities is expanding our firm’s practice areas with the recent addition of Gregory Zerzan to our team, who has held senior-level positions in the U.S. Department of Treasury, the U.S. Department of the Interior and has served as legal counsel to the House committees on Agriculture, Financial Services and Energy & Commerce,” explains Lowe. “Greg will be instrumental in expanding our firm’s portfolio of services to include advising national and global clients in their interactions with Congress and federal agencies. Our biggest challenge has been keeping a cohesive firm culture over the past year while everyone has been working remotely.”

When asked about the competitive legal market and how trends have impacted the firm’s approach, Lowe said, “It all comes down to positioning and growing our leadership in particular areas of law and recruiting and retaining top talent to increase our competitiveness in the region.”

Lowe adds that, “Over the past year, our firm made a strategic investment in our future through a rebrand. During a year filled with uncertainty, our leadership team made the proactive choice to think creatively and innovatively about how to best position us for the next decade.”

Lowe also shared that the firm is constantly thinking about succession planning and has a plan in place that provides financial incentives for retiring attorneys to successfully transition clients to the next generation of associates.
