Portland, OR… Jordan Ramis PC, a full-service regional law firm, named one of the Portland Business Journal's Most Admired Companies and Oregon Business Magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For, is pleased to announce that Steven L. Shropshire has been elected managing shareholder of the firm, effective January 1, 2009. Shropshire succeeds Andrew Jordan, who held the position for nearly 20 years, during which time the firm grew from 8 to 25 lawyers. Jordan will continue his real estate and municipal law practice with the firm.
"I am proud to have served these many years as the firm's managing shareholder," said Jordan. "Steve is very well suited to take on his new role and I am pleased to pass the torch to someone as qualified as he."
Shropshire joined Jordan Ramis in 2001 and was named a shareholder in January 2004. He serves on the boards of numerous community and professional organizations and was named one of The Portland Business Journal's Forty Under 40 in 2005. Shropshire commented, "Our firm's success, as recognized by the recent Most Admired Companies award, our loyal pool of high-quality clients, and our outstanding team of legal professionals are a direct reflection of Andy's excellent leadership over the years and I look forward to continuing that success." He will continue his practice in water rights and natural resources law, real estate, and agribusiness.
Prior to joining Jordan Ramis, Shropshire was in private practice at firms in Denver and Portland, where he focused primarily on water rights and natural resources law. He earned his BA from the University of Colorado and his JD with a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources from Lewis & Clark Law School, in Portland. He is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado. Shropshire is a frequent lecturer and published author on a variety of water rights and natural resource issues.
