Portland, OR… Jordan Ramis PC is pleased to announce that shareholder Peter O. Watts has been appointed to serve on the Leadership Council of the Community Investment Initiative ("CII"). The CII is a Metro-facilitated, but independent, think-tank charged with recommending strategies for regional economic growth. The Leadership Council is tasked with developing an integrated investment strategy that weaves together federal, state, regional and local resources.
"One of the objectives of the CII is to have a broad diversity of members from the community; not just in occupations but also in age," said Burton Weast, Co-Chair of the CII. "We were very pleased to have Peter, who is recognized as one of the best young lawyers in the region, accept the position with us."
Peter was recently ranked for the second year in a row as a Rising Star by Oregon Super Lawyers.Rising Star lawyers are recognized as the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state. To be eligible for inclusion, a candidate must be 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. In 2010, in addition to being named a Rising Star, Peter was recognized as one of Portland Business Journal's Forty Under 40 Business Professionals.
Peter graduated from the University of Oregon's School of Law and was admitted to the Oregon Bar in 2002. He received an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Washington in 2003. Peter serves as a member of the Oregon Law Foundation Board of Directors and as president of the Clackamas County Business Alliance Board of Directors.
