Children’s Hospital

BACK TO KNOWLEDGE CENTER

The new Randall Children’s Hospital, designed by ZGF Architects and built by Hoffman Construction, is a dramatic addition to the Legacy Emanuel campus in North Portland. The building was recently awarded ‘Best in Show’ at the 2012 Daily Journal of Commerce Top Project Competition. It features sustainable design strategies that follow “the Green Guide for Health Care,” and a building envelope that exceeds Oregon Energy Code standards. ZGF’s description of the projects emphasizes more than just technical accomplishments:

“The overarching goal was to create a place full of inspiration, with a sense of unexpected discovery and thoughtful distractions, in an environment that is comfortable for all ages in the 9-story, 334,000 SF Randall Children’s Hospital.”
