Supporting Our Communities
Community service is a core cultural value at Jordan Ramis. We are committed to supporting the well-being and prosperity of our communities and those living within them. Whether through fundraising, volunteering time, or donating goods, every member of our team has the opportunity to contribute to a variety of important organizations and charities, which include:
Jordan Ramis staff, family, and friends proudly support organizations that are dedicated to honoring our veterans. Each year, we volunteer with Wreaths Across America to help lay thousands of wreaths at Willamette National Cemetery in memory of countless American heroes. We also participate in other projects recognizing veterans and their families, such as Memorial Day flag placement at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Jordan Ramis has also participated in the Lines for Life military crisis lines telethon and sponsored the Lines for Life annual gala, which raises money to directly support the growing need for Lines for Life’s services. Lines for Life is an organization that is dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide through education, intervention, advocacy, and a 24-hour crisis line. While these resources are available for anyone in need, Lines for Life has targeted support for military service members and veterans.
Clackamas County Foster Kids
Each year Jordan Ramis PC participates in collecting holiday gifts to fulfill the wishes of Clackamas County foster children. Individuals in all three of our offices contribute to fulfill the children’s wish lists. It’s not unusual to see someone in the office assembling a bike or testing out safety helmets, or even testing out the assembled bikes before they are picked up for delivery to the kids.
Oregon Food Bank
At Jordan Ramis, we hold a Food Drive each year at all three of our offices. The Oregon Food Bank works with regional food banks, so we have the ability to spread our donations to communities in the Portland Metro area, Bend, and Vancouver, Washington. Each year, Jordan Ramis has collected food and cash donations that amount to over 2,000 meals for Oregon and SW Washington residents in need!
COVID-19 made 2020 an even more difficult year to ensure access to safe and nutritious food. In response, Jordan Ramis joined forces with other local law firms through Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger and increased our donation amount. We look forward to our annual food drive campaign because, just like the Oregon Food Bank’s mission states, we believe no one should be hungry.
School Supply Drive
On average, teachers are paying $500 out of pocket each year to supply their classrooms with the necessary items that all classrooms should have. At Jordan Ramis, we are committed to helping local schools by collecting and donating school supplies in the Portland Metro area, Bend, and Vancouver, Washington. From pencils and rulers to backpacks and tissues, we want our local schools to be prepared for the upcoming school year!
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to building homes, communities, and hope, because everyone deserves a decent and affordable home. Homes are built through the help of volunteers who see the need to eliminate substandard housing for struggling families where homeownership is simply unattainable. This very important program relies almost completely on its volunteers’ time and energy, corporate grants and donations, individual donations, and donated building materials.
The Jordan Ramis team supports this important organization by serving on the Evergreen chapter’s Board of Directors, sponsoring and attending various Habitat for Humanity functions, and volunteering with building projects. The Jordan Ramis PC staff might not have construction experience (although, some actually do!), but that doesn’t stop us from helping build homes for families that need them most.
In addition, our attorneys and staff support many other community organizations by offering pro bono legal services, serving on boards of directors, and volunteering in a variety of other roles. We strongly believe that we must support the communities in which we live and work.
