BACK TO KNOWLEDGE CENTER

Moderated by Maureen Bayer

At the Oregon Business & Environment Conference, presented by NEBC, December 6, 2023, panelists, moderated by Jordan Ramis Attorney Maureen Bayer, discussed how Supplemental Environmental Projects (SEP) are an option for those who have been found in violation of environmental laws to offset a portion of monetary fines. In this session, we will hear from the SEP coordinators of both Oregon and Washington about their respective SEP policies and programs, before turning to experts on environmental justice to learn about how community led SEPs can benefit environmental justice communities. Panelists were: Rebeka Dawit, Crag Law Center; Angela Fritz Washington State Department of Ecology; Kieran O’Donnell, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
