PORTLAND, OREGON (April 20, 2022) – Jordan Ramis PC, a full-service business law firm in the Pacific Northwest, announces the addition of Maureen Bayer as Shareholder and Daniel Bonham as Associate Attorney. Bayer joins the firm’s Environmental and Natural Resources group, working with clients facing environmental issues related to regulatory compliance, site contamination and business transactions. Bonham joins the firm as a bankruptcy attorney, assisting clients with bankruptcy-related proceedings, state law workouts and insolvency-related negotiations.
As a seasoned environmental attorney, regulatory specialist and litigator, Bayer has insider’s knowledge and a deep understanding of complex environmental issues when it comes to providing innovative solutions to her clients. In her role as Shareholder, she will guide landowners through all stages of environmental litigation to remediate contaminated property and collaborate with regulators on her clients’ behalf. Bayer will work closely with environmental consultants and transactional attorneys to identify and appropriately shift the environmental risk of business transactions to bring peace of mind to clients. She will also work alongside clients to tackle all manners of water rights and natural resources issues, navigate the Oregon water rights system and provide insights into water-related environmental concerns at the state and federal levels.
Bayer is admitted to practice in Oregon and California. She graduated from Vermont Law School, summa cum laude, with a Master of Studies in Environmental Law, and earned her J.D. Degree, cum laude, from Vermont Law School. She previously served as a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, National Wood Protection Association, Railway Tie Association, National Cannabis Industry Association and the Association for Corporate Growth. Currently, Bayer is a member of the Oregon Women Lawyers Association, Northwest Environmental Business Council and the Multnomah Bar Association.
“In this next stage of my career, I am thrilled to be joining Jordan Ramis’ team of legal professionals at a time when the firm is experiencing robust growth across its many practice areas,” said Bayer. “I look forward to leveraging the relationships I’ve built over the past 16 years in this new role, as my colleagues and I work to empower our clients and deliver value beyond the legal opinion.”
In Bonham’s new role, he will provide client support through difficult litigation proceedings, focusing heavily on Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13. Prior to joining Jordan Ramis’ Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights team, Bonham spent four years practicing as an associate attorney at a Portland-based bankruptcy law firm. During this time, he performed pro-bono work with Legal Aid of Portland, including assisting low-income individuals in the Legal Aid Bankruptcy Clinic. He also externed for Judges McKittrick and Hercher at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon.
Bonham is admitted to practice in Oregon and the U.S. District Court, District of Oregon. He graduated with a Bachelor’s from the University of Missouri, and earned his J.D.
