The Diversity Leadership Council advises the Clackamas County Commissioners on how best to reach and serve its minority populations.
Council members are chosen because they have a particular knowledge of issues facing minority populations in the county, experience working with hard-to-reach communities, or a language proficiency in dominant languages within Clackamas County other than English.
Ron's term as chairman will be for one year. He was first appointed to the Diversity Leadership Council in 2008. He is expected to be re-appointed for another three-year term later this month.
Ron is a member of Jordan Ramis's Labor and Employment Law practice group. Ron has extensive significant knowledge on immigration reform and compliance issues, and experience advising employers regarding current I-9 requirements. Ron's experience also includes negotiating labor contracts, administering grievance and arbitration processes, presenting discrimination and supervisory training, conducting employment-related investigations, and developing employee handbooks and policies.
Ron earned his B.A. from Siena Heights University and his J.D. at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is also fluent in Spanish.
