OVERVIEW
Jeff draws on his extensive experience structuring complex business transactions and his firm understanding of the business of commercial real estate and finance to provide effective, practical legal counsel tailored to his clients’ specific needs. He strongly believes that to be a successful legal advisor, you need a strong understanding of the client, their business, and their industry.
Jeff’s is licensed in both Oregon and Washington. He has a specialized focus on real estate transactions and finance, while also regularly advising business owners on traditional business and “corporate” law matters, including entity formation, corporate governance, employment law, joint venture and partnership agreements, business operations, contracts, and business and asset sales and acquisitions. Having served as the Chief Legal Officer and an executive committee member at a Vancouver, WA-based development and construction company, he has a first-hand appreciation and understanding of the day-to-day challenges (both legal and practical) faced by businesses.
Jeff’s transactional real estate practice spans the entire spectrum of complex commercial real estate transactions, including development, financing, leasing, joint ventures, acquisition/disposition of real estate projects, planned developments / HOAs, condominiums, and construction contract negotiations. Having previously practiced in Boston and the Carolinas at national and regional law firms, before relocating to Portland in 2013, he has advised clients of all types and sizes, from small developers to national REITs.
Jeff is also an active member of the Portland and Vancouver business communities, sitting on multiple boards and participating in various business and real estate industry organizations. When he’s not working, you can find Jeff watching Italian Serie A “calcio” and Champions League soccer, sharpening his Italian and Spanish (fluent in both), and spending time with his wife and three kids.
