OVERVIEW

Matthew Borghard focuses his practice on litigation and land use matters, representing individuals, businesses, and developers in disputes involving real estate, construction, business operations, and land use entitlements. His experience spans various contested matters, including boundary and zoning disputes, landlord-tenant issues, partnership conflicts, and administrative proceedings.

Matthew regularly appears in state court, arbitration, and mediation forums across Oregon. He has successfully navigated clients through complex land use applications, including zoning changes, Comprehensive Plan amendments, and Urban Growth Boundary issues in counties throughout the state. His work includes representing high-net-worth individuals, developers, and property owners in transactional and adversarial matters.

Before joining Jordan Ramis, Matthew practiced at regional law firms, handling business and real estate litigation and land use matters and serving as a Judicial Clerk with the Multnomah County Circuit Court. He also externed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. Prior to his legal career, he worked in Washington, D.C., as a Political Consultant and lobbyist.

Matthew’s approach is rooted in practical problem-solving, clear communication, and a thorough understanding of Oregon’s legal and regulatory landscape.
