OVERVIEW
Garrett West is a land use and development attorney based in Southern Oregon. His practice sits at the intersection of land use, real estate, development, government policy, and local politics. He helps developers, property owners, businesses, and public entities move projects through the legal, regulatory, and public processes that shape development in the Pacific Northwest.
Garrett works on development approvals, zone changes, urban growth boundary amendments, easements and covenants, parcel and lot legality issues, development agreements, and administrative appeals. He is often involved in projects where success depends not only on understanding the law, but also on understanding local governments, infrastructure constraints, community concerns, and the practical realities of public decision-making.
Before joining Jordan Ramis, Garrett was a partner at a boutique land use law firm in Jacksonville, Oregon. He has represented clients before planning commissions, city councils, county boards of commissioners, hearings officers, the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals, and various appellate bodies.
Born and raised in Southern Oregon, Garrett remains closely connected to the region while working with clients across the broader Pacific Northwest. Outside of his legal practice, he serves as the Vice President of the Medford City Council and as a member of the Medford Urban Renewal Agency Board of Directors. He’s the co-founder of the Oregon Forensics Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports speech and debate, mock trial, moot court, and similar educational activities.
