Matthew L. Kahl

Attorney

Matthew L. Kahl

OVERVIEW

With over 15 years of experience, Matthew provides guidance to clients across multiple industry areas including financial services, commercial real estate, construction, charter schools, and local government. His experience includes negotiating purchase and sale agreements, real estate and leasing transactions, public contracting, employment matters, public meetings and records, and construction contracts.

Prior to joining Jordan Ramis, Matthew served as a Chief Compliance Officer and in-house counsel to the Chief Operations Officer for a multi-state mortgage default services law firm. In this role, Matthew drafted firm policies and procedures ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and provided guidance to senior management and clients on compliance-related issues.

In addition to his legal practice, Matthew also focuses on civil rights in the Pacific Northwest. His passion to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community has led Matthew to serve as the vice-chair of the Anti-Defamation League’s Pacific Northwest region and as a member of the ADL’s Glass Leadership Institute Alumni Advisory Board. He also serves as the ADL’s local representative on the Oregon Coalition Against Hate Crime and the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland’s Jewish Community Relations Council. Committed to the growth and development of his community, Matthew is also involved with the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce where he is a member of the Leadership Lake Oswego 2020-2021 class and serves as chair of the Government Affairs Committee.

When not practicing law, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathleen, and two children, Eliana and Maddox, exploring the Pacific Northwest, attending community and cultural events, playing tennis and golf, and following his favorite sports teams (Dolphins, Heat, Panthers, Gators and, of course, the Timbers).
